The 2025 Super Challenge: A Broader Mobilization for Physical Activity in the Workplace
2025 Super Challenge Overview

The 2025 edition of the Super Challenge took place from March 24 to April 20. This initiative aims to promote physical activity among employees, using the concept of “energy cubes,” each representing 15 minutes of continuous physical activity. The Super Challenge is organized by the Epidaure team, the prevention department of the Montpellier Cancer Institute (ICM).

Until this year, the Super Challenge mainly involved co-piloting structures: the DRAJES, the Montpellier Regional Education Authority, ARS Occitanie, and the ICM. For this third edition, a dedicated app—funded by the SIRIC Montpellier Cancer—was launched, allowing for broader participation.

Thanks to this new platform, the Super Challenge was extended to other organizations such as Crédit Agricole du Languedoc, ESII, the Hérault branch of CAF, and Montpellier University Hospital (CHU).

In total, 8 organizations took part in the event, bringing together 977 participants across 198 teams, who collectively accumulated 100,580 energy cubes.

Focus on ICM’s Participation

The Montpellier Cancer Institute (ICM) gathered 202 participants organized into 37 teams. The app was actively used, with 41 posts recorded during the challenge. Sports events were organized throughout the initiative, including a variety of group fitness classes: strength training, stretching, yoga, Pilates, as well as fun and social physical activities.

ICM recorded a total of 30,002 energy cubes, equivalent to 7,500 hours or 450,030 minutes of physical activity.

SIRIC Montpellier Cancer: A Key Supporter of the Initiative

SIRIC supported the development of the Super Challenge app, helping make the experience more engaging and promoting the benefits of physical activity.

In addition, a feasibility study is being conducted within several participating organizations. The study aims to assess how the Super Challenge can be implemented and to better understand how employees experience this workplace physical activity promotion program.
