{"id":32959,"date":"2025-12-09T10:11:29","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T09:11:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/montpellier-cancer.com\/?p=32959"},"modified":"2025-12-10T10:19:50","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T09:19:50","slug":"charm%e2%80%91eu-highlights-from-the-research-hubs-2025-presentations-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/montpellier-cancer.com\/en\/charm%e2%80%91eu-highlights-from-the-research-hubs-2025-presentations-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Charm\u2011EU: Highlights from the Research\u202fHubs\u202f2025 Presentations"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-rte  mb-4 md:mb-8  bg-white p-3 md:p-6\">\n                        <div class=\"flex flex-col md:flex-row flex-wrap gap-2 md:gap-3 lg:gap-8\">\n          <div class=\"w-full\">\n            <div class=\"max-w-none prose \"><p><strong>A final event marked by collaboration and innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On December\u202f3rd,\u00a0 the second edition of the international <em>Research\u202fHubs<\/em> module ended at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icm.unicancer.fr\/fr\">Institut du Cancer de Montpellier (ICM)<\/a> with the public presentation of research projects developed by students from both the University of Montpellier and the University of Utrecht.<\/p>\n<p>Developed as part of the European alliance <a href=\"https:\/\/charm-eu.eu\/\">CHARM\u2011EU<\/a> and in partnership with SIRIC Montpellier\u202fCancer, this innovative program strengthens the bridge between education and research, preparing the next generation of scientists to engage in interdisciplinary, collaborative, and challenge\u2011driven research.<br \/>\nThe initiative perfectly reflects SIRIC Montpellier\u202fCancer\u2019s mission to promote translational cancer research and nurture links between academic exploration and clinical application.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research projects focused on cancer immunotherapies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the <a href=\"https:\/\/montpellier-cancer.com\/charm-eu-une-journee-inaugurale-pour-le-module-research-hubs-autour-des-defis-de-la-recherche-translationnelle\/\">inaugural conference on September\u202f24 <\/a><em>\u201cFrom\u202fImmune\u202fActivation\u202fto\u202fToxicity:\u202fChallenges\u202fon\u202fCancer\u202fImmunotherapies\u201d<\/em>, students formed interdisciplinary teams to explore the complex and evolving field of cancer immunotherapies.<\/p>\n<p>Over three months of collaboration, five teams developed innovative research proposals addressing key issues such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>optimizing immune responses in combination cancer therapies;<\/li>\n<li>studying treatment\u2011related toxicity mechanisms;<\/li>\n<li>identifying predictive biomarkers to improve patient\u2011specific clinical monitoring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.ub.edu\/en\/\">University of Barcelona<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immun4cure.fr\/\">IHU\u202fImmune4Cure<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/evocan.chu-montpellier.fr\/fr\/fhu-evocan\">FHU\u202fEvocan\u20112<\/a> joined the initiative, supporting student training and project supervision throughout the program.<\/p>\n<p>The research proposals were reviewed by an inter\u2011university scientific committee composed of faculty members, clinicians, and representatives from SIRIC Montpellier\u202fCancer. As a core partner, SIRIC Montpellier\u202fCancer reaffirmed its role as a key contributor to the advancement of translational oncology, fostering closer collaboration between research and clinical practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Looking ahead to 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Research\u202fHubs\u202f2025<\/em> experience extended well beyond the final presentations. Beginning in Spring\u202f2026, several students will undertake research internships at partner laboratories in Montpellier and Utrecht, strengthening the international collaboration established
