The Symposium: “Molecular Basis of Hematological Malignancies: A focus on Leukemia and Lymphoma.” will be held on 6th July, 2022 at Genopolys (IGH, Occitanie Tram stop, Tram 1).
We have a remarkable international panel of speakers including the keynote speaker Prof. Dominique BONNET from CRICK institute (UK), Youmna Kfoury from David Scadden’s lab at MIT (USA), Amy Sexauer from David Skyes Lab at Harvard (USA) and Kolja Eppert (Canada). In addition, several speakers from Lebanon (Ali Bazarbachi, Marwan El-Sabban, Hiba El-Hajj and Haidar Akl), Montpellier (Jerome Moreaux, Ludovic Gabellier) and Lyon (Akram Ghantous, IARC) will also be giving talks at the symposium.
The objective of this symposium is to bring together renowned scientists working on leukemia and hematopoietic/leukemic stem cells. In particular, it will discuss the latest discoveries and strategies in leukemia research, diagnosis and treatments. In addition, this symposium aims to build networks and collaborations among international scientists; especially French and Lebanese researchers. Finally, this meeting will allow researchers to exchange ideas relevant to the MUSE challenges, mainly the “Protect” and “Cure” aspects of MAK’IT priorities related to the health of cancer leukemia patients.
The topics will range from understanding the influence of bone marrow microenvironment in normal and leukemic stem cells as well as intercellular communication and RNA signaling within the niche. Speakers will also discuss mutations in pre-leukemic hematopoietic stem cells and AML cells (Nucleophosmin-1) and novel strategies to target Adult T cell leukemia, T-cell ALL, B cell malignancies, and Childhood Leukemia.
