« Cerebral plasticity, neural stem cells and glial tumor » team, Pr H Duffau, INM, seeks a post doc applicant for next AFM/Marie Curie Calls

The laboratory for “Cerebral Plasticity, Stem Cells and Glial Tumors” headed by Pr H Duffau, MD, PhD (www.inmfrance.com/inm/neuroplasticity) at the Institute for Neurosciences of Montpellier (www.inmfrance.com) is looking for a candidate to apply for next post doctoral researcher calls  (AFM and Marie Curie fellowships, deadlines July, 5th and September, 14th respectively). Over the last years, the lab has been working on adult neural stem cells residing in the spinal cord as well as on cancer stem cells found in cerebral tumors (gliobastoma).  We are currently investigating pathways involved in the activation of normal and tumoral neural stem cells in the context of cancer and after spinal cord injury and neurodegenerative disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). The projet relies on cell purification and primary cell cultures so the candidate needs to be familiar with these techniques. Background in neurobiology and stem cells as wells as in bioinformatics would be appreciated. As these are competitive calls and in order to save energy and time for both sides, it is important that potential applicants has at least one publication as first author in journal with IF> 5
